Costume Design
and Construction

Elizabeth was an eager student who pursued a well-rounded, hands-on education in theatre arts at Tyler Junior College. After graduating with her associates degree in the Spring of 2019, she was accepted into the BFA program for Design and Technology at Texas Tech University, where she graduated in December of 2021 with a 4.0 GPA. During her time as a student, Elizabeth engaged in many valuable opportunities to strengthen her costume design and construction skills. In 2021, she earned the KCACTF Region 6 Barbizon Award for Scenic Design, as well as completing a stitching/dressing apprenticeship at the Santa Fe Opera. Since graduation, Elizabeth has used her time as a freelance artist in Charleston to explore the fashion industry. She has worked with the designers for the brands Maude Couture and Lorette Lingerie to create patterns and prototypes for new collections. After a year of travel ending in New England, Elizabeth plans to recenter her focus on the live entertainment industry, and the experiences she has had will inform her process moving forward.
